Old News

Crinkled away with torn paper
Lost in an unseeing gaze
There’s nothing left here to save her
Let’s watch as she falls in the blaze.

Hollow whispers of shadowed words
Shattered and dumb
Meanings that are unheard,
Left and numb.

Tossed away as sand in the breeze,
Time passed by as a blur
Emptiness quickly seized her
And faded into a yellow signature.

Twisted into an ancient figure,
Grotesque disgust,
A story with no closure…

Simply an old newspaper sitting here, consumed by dust.
