All Hands On Deck For New Mass Effect DLC

Citadel

All signs are pointing to a new single-player DLC for Mass Effect, and I have to say… the hype is getting to me.

“It’s all hands on deck for this one. Pretty much every ME3 DLC writer here in Edmonton is involved,” wrote BioWare designer Jos Hendriks on the studio’s official forums. Based on what has been revealed so far, the DLC is rumored to involve the Citadel, but what is exciting me more is the continued announcements of awesome Mass Effect characters that may be involved.

Voice of Joker, Seth Green, was tweeted by BioWare voiceover director and producer Caroline Livingstone: “@SethGreen Thank you for yet another fantastic session. And thank you for being such a kind person.”

Also, Raphael Sbarge, the voice for Kaiden Alenko, tweeted that he was back in the recording studio at the end of October, which may suggest that his character is also involved in this mysterious new DLC. No other word has appeared so far from any of the other cast suggesting that their voices have been borrowed for this expansion, but I’m definitely keeping an eye out.

What ultimately gets to me, though is what Mass Effect trilogy composer Sam Hulick tweeted: “What I’m up to lately: working on an unannounced Mass Effect 3 DLC.”

Also, “Tossing in piano and muted strings for this one particular piece. High potential for tears.”

I’m at least hoping that there is some sort of definite conclusion to Shepard’s story. I’ve murmurings suggesting funerals, dramatic closure, revival/reunion scene, etc… but I can’t help but wish for nothing less than a satisfying conclusion, regardless of the “choice” everyone made at the end. In my world Shepard survives, and even if the story is a painful one, she is reunited with her crew… and of course, Liara.

I’m still hoping for a romance DLC after all…

What do all of you think this DLC will contain? More importantly, what would you like to see happen? Perhaps this indicates the beginning of the ultimate grand finale of the trilogy, but as of right now, nothing is certain. Any future announcements and rumors will be posted on here, though, so keep an eye out!
