While closed beta testing continues for the Elder Scrolls Online on the PC, several console players have been waiting on the side for any info about the anticipated MMO on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. In a PlayStation Blog, one particular question was answered: Will PlayStation Plus be required to play Elder Scrolls Online?
“A PlayStation Plus membership is not required to play The Elder Scrolls Online. PS4 players will only be required to pay the same monthly subscription associated with The Elder Scrolls Online that PC and Mac users will pay–nothing more.” This comes as a bit of a relief to PlayStation users while Xbox One users will still have to pay for Live in order to participate in ESO. In addition, some other information was revealed. PS4 users will have their own dedicated ESO servers, split between European and North American servers. PC and Mac users won’t be able to participate with the PS4 megaservers.
In the meantime, PS4 users still have to wait for word about the PlayStation beta since no date or time frame has been shared. However, if you would like to sign up for the eventual PS4 beta, visit here.
