No Personal Info Accessed During PSN Outage [UPDATED]

The PlayStation Network, which was slated to go down for maintenance tomorrow, has apparently been struck with a sudden DDoS attack that has left the entire network unavailable for users. Sony has managed to begin responses to the public as they try to fix the problem, but there is currently no timetable as to when the service will be restored. Fortunately for users, Sony has revealed that no user information has been revealed in this security attack.

An update on the PlayStation Blog states, “Like other major networks around the world, the PlayStation Network and Sony Entertainment Network have been impacted by an attempt to overwhelm our network with artificially high traffic. Although this has impacted your ability to access our network and enjoy our services, no personal information has been accessed.”

Other similar attacks on League, Path of Exile, and Blizzard games have also been reported, but it seems that Sony is the only one having issues.

This page will be updated once more news is released.

4:16 pm EST – Apparently the PSN Status is currently green (I’m also able to sign in with no problem), however Sony is aware that some users are still experiencing issues.
